Lech Classic Music Festival

03.08.2020 – 08.08.2020

The „09th Lech Classic Festival“ will be a delight for all connoisseurs again.
Focus this year: Ludwig van Beethofen – 250th Birthday.

In 2012 we decided to start a classical music festival. The mountain farming village of Lech am Arlberg has offered itself in the summer as the right place.

From the beginning it is a small success story, also because the people of Lech spontaneously stood and stand behind the project.

We want to bring people closer to classical music. The audience is our sovereign, we want to interest and lead to classical music. When attending the festivals, one should be able to leave the everyday life behind and the musical experiences should linger on for a long time with our audience.

We are different from chamber music festivals. Both the establishment of a festival orchestra and a festival choir gives the repertoire a different direction. We do not use the usual concert scheme – overture, soloist concert, symphony – but offer “gala concerts”. That we want to provide a sequence of musical “highlights”. Outstanding vocal and instrumental soloists are always accompanied by the orchestra.

The focus of the program is on the versatility of the offer. A dramaturgical thread runs noticeably through: we also present masterpieces, which, for various reasons, find little or no access in the usual daily concert routine. For example, the pieces are often too short for concert programming. But there are many musical treasures to be found.

We also venture into concertante opera performances, with works whose music is so insistent that they do not necessarily require a scenic realization. The performance framework in the Neue Lech church is so dense that there is always a special interdependence between the artists and the audience. This exciting atmosphere gives the festival its special fascination.

Our chosen path continues: From a local success to a regional success, it has meanwhile become a supraregional success.
